In keeping with the goals of the Ten Year Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness in the Richmond Region, Homeward worked with the Case Management Steering Committee to create a case management certificate program that will improve client outcomes through the increased skill and knowledge of case managers. The classes are targeted to agency staff members that provide case management services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and those at-risk of experiencing homelessness. However, anyone providing case management is encouraged to attend.
There are 6 required core courses that cover the basics of providing case management services to those experiencing and at-risk of experiencing homelessness. In addition, 3 electives will be required and are intended to expand and enhance the skills and knowledge covered in the core courses. Detailed course descriptions will be posted on this site. The program is designed to repeat every six months.

General information
This training program was initiated with funding from a local foundation and is sustained by volunteer instructors in order to increase the capacity of the service provider network in our region to implement the Ten Year Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness in the Richmond Region. To ensure that the trainings meet this intended purpose and are a resource to the entire provider community, no one agency will be able to register more than 3 individuals for a single training class.
- You must register for each course separately.
- If you are not interested in completing the certificate program, you are welcome to take any individual course as a stand-alone.
