The 2017 Walking in Their Shoes event will be on Thursday April 27th from 8:30 am-4 pm!
Walking in Their Shoes is a full-day community-based homeless simulation during Affordable Housing Awareness Week. Twenty community leaders will join together to navigate challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness including accessing food, shelter, and transportation.
Each participant is assigned a small group, an individual profile, and specific human services organizations to visit. After going out in small groups to seek services, everyone eats at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church lunch program and then gathers in the afternoon to discuss the experience. Past participants have called the experience, “life-changing”, “amazing”, and “impactful”.
