New data from the summer 2026 Point in Time (PIT) count that was conducted on July 23rd and July 24th found that 613 people were experiencing homelessness in our region. Of those individuals, 326 were in shelters and 287 were unsheltered, meaning they lived in a place not suitable for habitation (such as outside or a car).
Today is National Voter Registration Day, a national, nonpartisan effort to make sure eligible voters have the information and resources they need to participate in our democracy.
This summer, Homeward had the privilege of welcoming an intern in partnership with t he Virginia Department of the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI). Over the course of two weeks they made a meaningful impact on our team while reminding us that accessibility and inclusion are ongoing commitments that help all of us work better.
